UKCTTA Ranking
The UKCTTA (United Kingdom Table Tennis Association) has decided to implement a straightforward and effective ranking system to streamline tournament organization and ensure matches are appropriately matched based on players' skill levels. This ranking system will serve as the basis for determining tournament fixtures.
Below is the breakdown of how players will earn points in this ranking system:
- Group Stage:
- Winners of group stage: 2 points
- Losers of group stage: 1 point
- Winners: Players who emerge victorious in tournaments will earn points as follows:
- Last 32: 3 points
- Last 16: 5 points
- Last 8: 10 points
- Last 4: 15 points
- Runner-up: 30 points
- Winner: 50 points
- Losers: Players who do not win the tournament but win individual games will still earn points:
- 1 point for each game won in Last 32
- 2 points for each game won in Last 16
- 3 points for each game won in Last 8
- 5 points for each game won in Last 4
- 10 points for each game won in Runner-up match
- 15 points for each game won in the final match
It's important to note that the tournament format is the best of 5 games won. This means that players must win at least three games to win the match. This format adds an additional layer of strategy and endurance to the competition, as players must maintain consistency and adaptability throughout the match to secure victory.
